Hosted by Villa Rica Main Street, the market offers a wide variety of fresh, locally grown produce and other locally handcrafted products. The Hwy. 78 Farmers and Craft Market is held every Tuesday (except holidays), from 4 to 7 p.m. at The MILL Amphitheater located at 106 Temple Street.

“We’re here to bring to bring the best local produce and homemade crafts to the community of Villa Rica,” explained Tourism and Main Street Program Coordinator, Sharon Dupont.

Originally known a few years ago as the Villa Rica Farmers Market, it was later rebranded the Hwy. 78 Farmers and Craft Market by Christopher Pike, Director of Downtown Development and Tourism.

Hwy. 78 Farmers and Craft Market also offers a Power of Produce (POP) Club, every first and third Tuesday of each month for children ages four to twelve years old. According to the Farmer’s Market Coalition website, the nationally recognized program aims to empower kids to make healthy food choices through educational activities, cooking demonstrations, and food sampling.

As a fun incentive to engage them in the farmer’s market process, children who partake of POP Club activities also receive POP Bucks to spend on fresh fruits and veggies.

The market also offers a cooking demonstration on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Featuring local produce, the 30-40 minute demonstration features delicious recipes that can easily be replicated at home.

Anyone interested in participating as a vendor at the Hwy. 78 Farmers and Craft Market can apply online or contact the Main Street Office at or (678)840-1440.

“We’re always looking for more farmers and craft makers. Some are dedicated to being here every week, but there is always room for weekly vendors as well,” said Dupont.
